A purchase is missing

Open Shop on the title screen and tap Restore purchases. (The same button is in Settings.) It brings back Prize Path, Double Quarters and the Starter Bundle. On a new iPhone without your iCloud save, it also gives back what is inside the bundle. It does not hand out a second copy of Tickets or powers you already used. You will see “Purchases checked.” when it worked, or “Could not reach the store.” if your iPhone could not reach the App Store. Try again with a good connection.

Ticket packs are used up when you buy them, so Apple cannot restore them. Your Tickets are part of your save instead. If iCloud is on, they come back with your save on a new iPhone. If a Ticket pack is still missing, email me the date of the purchase and Apple’s receipt.

If a purchase says “Waiting for the store to say yes,” Apple has not approved it yet. If the iPhone uses Ask to Buy, a grown-up has to say yes. That happens on Apple’s side.

Refunds

Apple handles refunds. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, and choose the purchase.

Missing progress

• Settings has an iCloud box. It says “Synced with iCloud” when your save is safe in your iCloud.
• If it says “iCloud is off. Saved on this iPhone only.”, your progress is only on that iPhone. Tap Open Settings in that box. It opens the iPhone’s Settings app. There, turn iCloud on for Gumshell (usually under your name, then iCloud).
• If it says “Saved on this iPhone. Will sync later.”, the iPhone could not reach iCloud. It will sync when it can.
• If two iPhones differ, the box says “Two phones differ. Pick one to keep.” Tap Pick a run to keep and choose. The run you do not pick is set aside, not deleted. If you are not sure, pick the one with the higher wave.
• Deleting the game from an iPhone that has iCloud off deletes the save with it.

Scores and medals

Sign in to Game Center in the iPhone’s Settings app. The Game Center box in Gumshell’s Settings screen tells you if you are signed in. Medals save either way. Scores and achievements you earn while Game Center is off wait on your iPhone and are sent after you sign in.

Crashes and slowdowns

Update to the newest iOS and the newest Gumshell. Close other apps, then reopen the game. If it still happens, email me the map, the wave and what you were doing.
